Back in April Channel 4 launched their catch up service for the iPad enabling Channel 4 content on the iPad. Today Channel 4 updated it to a universal app so it works on the iPhone as well. The app is free and available from the app store.
New features include: – 4oD is now available on your iPhone and iPod Touch as well as the iPad – Find your favourite programmes by typing in the name of the show from the new Search menu – Keep your programmes forever by downloading content to own via iTunes (not all programmes are available to download and you have to pay for them) – Browse the application with either 3G or Wi-Fi connectivity (video playback remains Wi-Fi only for the best viewing experience)
“universal app” is the term Apple use to cover apps that work in the iPad and iPhone etc. As for Nokia or Blackberry well that is up to Channel 4 to determine if there is a market for the app for those platforms.
