Back in 2009 Microsoft said there was at least one more Zune hardware device coming to market but since then Microsoft appears to be de-emphasizing the brand and have seemed to have given up on the hardware side of Zune. Searching through patent documents Manan Kakkar found a patent for a iPod Nano competitor that unfortunately never saw the light of day, I still use my Zune HD everyday so it would have been interesting to see if this device could have succeeded
It’s also interesting to note that the one of the team behind the device also worked on the Courier tablet that Microsoft cancelled before it was launched
