Tranquil PC Preview the AVA Media ixVL Media Center

Tranquil have released a sneak peak of their new AVA Media ixVL Media Center box that is due soon. The new unit is fan less and will ship with either Intel i3 or i5 CPU, slot loading drive, DVB-T tuner and all the usual connectors like HDMI/SPDIF. 

Last week I popped down to Tranquil to record an interview  for a future show and have a look at the unit, the case feels very solid and is make of aluminium. No details on price yet

Specs:

  • Fan less design for ‘lounge friendly’ use
  • i3 or i5 CPU for instant response and future proofing
  • Integrated IR remote receiver and remote hand unit
  • Slot loading CD/DVD (optional BluRay)
  • Built in IPTV services from popular TV stations and SKY**
  • Measuring a modest 240mm (wide) x 250mm (deep) x 100mm high
  • Constructed from thick black aluminium extrusions and fitted with a blue VFD to the front
  • HDMI / SPDIF consumer connections etc
  • Dual DVB-T tuners
