Jon over on theHTPC.net has a first look at the upcoming meta<browser/> 2.0 metadata manager. His review is pretty detailed and in fact he says we should treat it as a reference guide for now. Meta<browser/> 2.0 is metadata manager Media Center with framework for developers to create their own plugins and so far look it looks pretty advanced and it has a very clever drag and drop UI
The post is not for the faint hearted and is pretty detailed but there lots of screen shots and video demos, so for the full detailed posts go to thehtpc.net
In the time I’ve spent testing and reviewing this application, it has become clear to me that this is not an ‘upgrade’ to the currently available meta<browser/> 1.0 application. meta<browser/> 2.0 is completely rewritten from the ground up and has improved upon the old release in every way. The settings, interface configuration, monitoring, open plugin framework, etc. are all vastly improved and/or completely new. It is also completely possible, with the right configuration, to make meta<browser/> 2.0 a set-and-forget application as it can automate all tasks it is capable of doing manually.
