Internet Explorer could save you 45 minutes

Not quite Media Center related, but it could help if you’re mobile.  This is one of the more interesting takes on browser selection criteria that I’ve seen, it’s something I’d not really thought about before…does the browser you use affect your battery life?

The answer from AnandTech is that yes, it does, and quite dramatically as the image below shows.  Also look what’s right at the top of the performance list for a change, IE8!  This I’m thinking is yet another reason that Windows 7 performs so well in battery tests, and I wonder if they did any benchmarking against mobile performance whilst IE8 was in dev, like the engineering team did with Windows 7.
