OK I know this is not directly Media Center related but I know lots of you will enjoy this. The BBC has opened up some of the early episodes of the technology show Tomorrows World including editions from the ‘60s, ‘70s and 1980s. There are full episodes and clips and one interesting clip is the introduction of the home computer terminal, it shows the idea of having a computer terminal at home something which seemed was a strange idea at the time. In the voice over they say that in 20 years time (mid 80s) they would expect all new homes would have a computer terminal.
There are also demos of the first “light pen”, the automated office of the future and the computer in the class room.
Also worth watching soon is a show on BBC 4 called the Electric Dreams where a family’s home is taken back to the 1970s and the gadgets of the time and then fast-forwarded at a year per day
