It’s official: no plans to sell Zune HD outside the US

I know its not new news but its further confirmation that the Zune HD will be US only, Arstechnica have a quote from a Microsoft spokesperson saying:

"Right now we are focused on deploying an exciting service in the form of Zune Video to 18 markets. We are looking at potential future hardware experiences for these markets, but do not have anything to announce right now."

I am not surprised that Microsoft are just releasing it in the US, the whole Zune program is US centric and they didn’t do such a good job rolling the old Zune out in Canada. I think we will see Zune services around world starting with the Xbox 360 but I can see the Zune hardware being US only for some time now.

Still I am importing a HD and will let you know how I get on with it when it arrives

I can’t see Zune hardware being available outside the US ever. Zune will appear as a subset ot winmo 7, and maybe 6.5, as well as on the Xbox 360.
