New BBC iPlayer works great with Windows Media Center Extenders

For a while I have been using BBC iPlayer to download BBC content and play it on Windows Media Center, the only problem I found was to get it to play on the Xbox 360 in Extender mode I have to copy and paste the files around as the default download directory created by the iPlayer has a funny set of permissions and the Extender sessions have no access to the content. The good news is that the new version of the BBC iPlayer features a new download option via an Adobe Air application. The new download is labelled as “Windows Media Player” and when you use this download it doesn’t need you need to jump through hoops to get it working on the 360 in Extender mode

So far I have been unable to get it working with Windows 7 but other have so I will try it tonight on my home system

Now all we need is the WMV content to be in HD
