I had no problems getting the new DVB-T version of the HD Homerun working with Windows Vista but on Windows 7 I couldn’t get it to work, at first I thought I was experiencing the same problem as users in Australia where the channel PID was mismatched but after trying the solution indicated in Silicon Dust’s forums I still couldn’t get it working. After installing Windows 7 build 7077  I though I would give the Homerun another try and I am happy to say it worked flawlessly. I didn’t need the workaround it worked straight out of the box on a HP DV6000 notebook.

Running under Windows 7 it worked just as it did with Vista, I did have some issues with a couple of BBC channels and under Vista I was not sure if it was a network or signal issue. Fortunately Windows 7 tells you the signal quality and BBC1 was showing at 72% with the Homerun and that’s where where the stuttering problems came from and maybe with a signal booster I could sort that out, having said that my Nova-T 500 reports 100% signal strength on the same channel.

I like the flexibility of network based tuner, meaning you don’t have a aerial cable where the PC is located so it gives you a lot more options for your Media Center System and having it working in Windows 7 means its set for the future
