Video Resume finally a reality

Last night I was recording a video looking at Windows 7 Media Center features and I totally missed one big new feature: Video Resume. Fellow Media Center MVP Mike Garcen points out that one of the most annoying aspect of previous versions for Media Center was there was no resume feature for Video files, with Recorded TV files you can start watching a show then stop it’s playback and resume it later but with Videos you couldn’t do that. But with Windows 7 that is fixed as Mike says “So it’s with great pride I can report that my prayers (and clearly not just my own) have been answered, as I can report that as of the public beta of Windows7, VIDEO RESUME EXISTS!”

It’s another aspect of how Windows 7 has made small improvements that make a big difference to the end user. I tested this on a video I recorded on my camera and it works a treat! Well spotted Mike

Windows 7 is my first experience with Media Center, so I totally took this feature for granted. Never knew it wasn’t included in previous versions. :-) Oh well, I’m glad it’s there.
