There was a lot of buzz around getting Netflix on to TVs and other devices at CES, Media Center has access to Netflix via Anthony Park’s MyNetFlix application but after a recent update to Netflix’s website a couple of features of MyNetflix stopped working. The good new is that Anthony has updated his app and now its all working

Netflix made an update to their website yesterday, and the login feature within MyNetflix stopped working. In addition, some users had previously reported that the watchnow genre pages were only showing 24 titles. Thanks for the many emails about these problems, bringing them to my attention.

I have updated MyNetflix to resolve these issues (v2.2.1.9), and you can download the new version from my Software page

  1. Is this working on extenders yet? I know that there was an app that would and when Netflix moved to silverlight it broke the extender capability.

  2. MyNetflix runs on extenders in terms of queue viewing and management *only*. You cannot use the Watch Now feature on an extender. For that you need to try vmcNetflix, although getting it to work is many times a hit-and-miss affair.

  3. VMCNetlix has limitations with the new silverlight NF viewer…no remote control actions work with the viewer on the extender, audio is muted, and what vidoe is streamed is choppy…NF and extenders seem to be mutually exclusive…

  4. So when is Netflix going to actually embrace the Media Center and come out with their own media Center plug-in?

Doesn’t Anthony Park actually work for Netflix? I had thought their hiring him was a precursor to taking over his code base to launch their own Netflix Media Center plug-in.

Also, when will Netflix HD get to Media Center?
