Windows Vista Service Pack 2 beta available for downloading

If you like living on the edge you can download Windows Vista Service Pack 2 beta from Technet:

SP2 Beta Standalone updates for computers with one or more of the following five languages: English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. If your computer has any other language installed this option will not work.

  • Windows Update installation of SP2 for Windows Server 2008 x86/x64/ia64 and Windows Vista x86/x64
  • Five Language SP2 Standalone:
    • ISO for Windows Server 2008 x86/x64/ia64 and Windows Vista x86/x64
    • x86 for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista x86
    • x64  for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista x64
    • IA64 for Windows Server 2008 ia64

I will be giving it a try over the weekend but as far as I know there are no updates for Windows Media Center in the service pack

I’m always tempted to try these, but end up losing when I try to upgrade to the final release!

    Hi Ian,

how did your testing with Vista SP2 go? I’ve tried it out, and found that its killing my network connection between my media pc and the xbox360 we have upstairs – on SP1, we had a full set of bars in the network tuning, with SP2, its down to the first bar – and unfortunately I haven’t been able to find any details of a solution!

Just wondering if you’ve hit the same problem

    Tony
