If you use DVR-MS toolbox and enjoy some of the great features like commercial skipping then you need to act to save the application. DVR-MS doesn’t work with the new TV pack and part of the reason for this is that a published API in the Windows Media Center SDK that is broken in the TV pack and with no sign of a fix being developed the developer of DVR-MS Toolbox Andy Van Till needs to raise a business impact statement with the hope that the number of users effected makes it a case worth looking at for Microsoft. This issue may only effect TV pack users now but action is needed to make sure this bug does not go in to future products. So if you use DVR-MS leave a comment on Andy’s blog so he can get a feel for the the user base, unfortunately in my experience the ratio of people that use a product to the the number willing take action like this is very low so I hope that is taken in to consideration. It is also interesting to note that Microsoft Charlie Owen has commented on the post also asking for users comments

Microsoft has confirmed that the issue exists, but they do not plan to develop a QFE or even publicly document it via a KB article.  At this point the only option that I have been provided is to write a business impact statement in the hope that the effected population is big enough for MS to care about.  DTB doesn’t have any kind of tracking mechanisms to determine install base so determining the effected pool will be difficult.  If you are a TV Pack and DTB user let me know.  Hopefully there will be enough of you to get noticed.
