Samsung to offer Extender compatible with non Samsung TVs

CE Pro in their pre-CEDIA report have picked up on a rumour that Samsung will be showing off a generic version of an Extender that works with non Samsung TVs. As you may recall at CES I saw Samsung’s Media Center Extender and it only worked with selected Samsung HDTV’s (The reason is the TV controlled the extender via HDMI CEC). Obviously this made the market for the Extender very slim which was a shame as it was a very small neat looking device so I am looking forward to seeing if Samsung bring out an updated Extender

Also talking of Extenders Niveus have ceased development of it’s Xbox 360 based Edge Extender and look to be working with 3rd party devices like the HP MediaSmart Extender
