Back in the UK for this weeks show. Andrew was away ...
Better late than never, a special show for you this ...
Garry and Andrew are back and we talk over the ...
This week Garry and Andrew were busy so Jason Coombes ...
so from this (and other sites) for us only i.e. 450 series tv and above only (i.e. not uk models)
and no divx support
GREAT!!!
The 450 series and above are being sold in the UK so I’m not sure why it shouldn’t be compatible – they have HDMI-CEC. Only being sold in the US is a pain but if it’s a DC power input, presumably it’s just a case of buying a UK AC/DC adapter with the right voltage, etc?
i think your confusing 450 series with series 4 tvs, (series 4 tv are not compatable because there hdmi does not support anynet + (hdmi cec)
Certain series 4 TVs do support HDMI-CEC – e.g. LE26A456 http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/detail/spec.do?group=television&type=television&subtype=tftlcd&model_cd=LE26A456C2DXXU
I hope this is right because I’ve bought one on the basis of buying the extender!
lets hope it does work in the UK, I will try and find out but I was told at CES it was UK only but maybe that has changed
I have a 32″ R87, which I bought 4 months ago. I checked before i got it that it has Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC). As I noted from CES that this device was coming. I don’t understand why they wont support any samsung that support HDMI-CEC, especially as they have the option of an OTA upgrade to the firmware.
Here is an extract from the Samsung R87 Spec:
“Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC):
You’re in full command with the R87. Anynet+ delivers streamlined, one-touch control over all your connected devices such as a DVD Player and Home Theatre. You can operate all of them with a single remote control that enables commands to be passed among devices within the system.”
Heres hoping they see sense (assuming its technically possible), as I am not planning to buy another Samsung TV anytime soon. And I like the idea of mounting it behind the TV!
I had a day off with the kids and managed to put my back out so that delayed me unboxing HP’s new TouchSmart…
PingBack from http://windowshometheater.com/2008/07/26/post-roundup-4/
It’s currently US-only. You can still purchase the US model, import it and use it in the UK. You will just need to have the right adapter ready.
Technically, any Samsung TV that supports Anynet+ will be sufficient enough to get this device going..
That’s great – exactly what I intend on doing! I’m sure it will be possible to find an adapter somewhere. I see the device is now on the Samsung website (http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/accessory/type/accList.do?group=televisions&type=televisions&subtype=tvaccessories&subsubtype=misc) but I can’t find it in an online shop yet (although I don’t know the US very well so maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place)
Any one find one of these for sale online yet?
still looking for one
Do you know where to find them?
