I've been working on a list of 3rd party applications for Media Center.  This is by no means complete, but it's at least a start.

Check out the list here: http://www.mediacenterguides.com/apps

I haven't tried it yet but there is Media Center RSS Reader: http://vistamcrssreader.oabsoftware.nl/

Not really a UI kind of app but, what about DVRMSToolbox? http://babgvant.com/files/folders/dvrmstoolbox/default.aspx

Also LifeExtender http://www.lifextender.com/

About Media Center RSS Reader, it works great in Windows Media Center, but when I try it on the extender (Xbox 360), there is no content at all. It may be user based, so the MCX have no feeds...

One other problem, when I uninstall it, it leaves a Accessories strip behind, plus a couple links... That's not good. If we go into Tasks, Settings, General,  Program Library Options, we can remove it.

Do you know of a good way for downloading podcasts for Windows Media Center, that works with the extenders. What do you use?

For podcasts I just use any old podcasting client. You could probably use the Zune software. Personally I us Juice. Hasn't been updated in years but it is light weight and works well. I set up VMC to watch the folders were the podcasts go then just go to Videos or Music and watch or listen that way.

M4V and the like doesn't work on my extender but xvid does. I really need to do a write up on how I do it but, basically I have Dirmon2 watch the folders for new items and then run a script against them to convert them to xvid. Works well.

Just found Music Browser which is like the Video Browser application. Added it to the wiki.

Thanks for the addition kingtone! Smile  I'll have to check out that app.

For podcasting I just use iTunes - not a big fan of it, but I have an iPhone, so it is the easiest for me.
