What are the pro's and con's of using FFDShow or CCCP....based on the fact that other than they let you watch AVI's etc, I have no idea what black magic they hold inside them, and wouldn't know how to tune them, this side of getting a Phd on audio visual stuff.

I use TAPIrex and totally recommend it, although I'm in the US, I know it does work in the UK, I've spoken to the author before, he's a real nice guy, and very passionate about MCE so he really did a nice job on the MCE integration component for it.
