Hello,

Not sure about the right subject but I throw my question in here. Just go invited to the Live Mesh service and got the client piece installed and now I get the message "Failed to start Live Mesh" in the ballon from the Mesh tray icon. Anyone else seen this and been able to get it to start or connect or what ever it might be hindering it from starting? I am running a Vista Ultimate with SP1 on it.

Thanks.

.Martin

No and that is kind of strange, you woudl think that the app would throw and error. Anyway is now digging around in the security arena, checking access on ports and stuff, on the router and also in the Vista firewall. Also installed it on my laptop running XP SP2 and get the same error, which makes me starting to think it has to do with the configuration of the router. Has anyone had any kind of similar issues in regards to ports needed ot being opened or?

hi to all. I have the same exactly problem.

I think it is related with my wireless router, that is somehow blocking mesh. Do you know what ports are being used by mesh?

If you have any news please let me know. I'll do the same.

Thanks.

I find the probleme and the solution (for my part) : the client send informations, and the date :

<Assertion xmlns="urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:assertion" ID="4da5669f-0a77-47c5-a3dc-1737d73fc129" IssueInstant="mar., 29 avr. 2008 22:36:01 GMT" Version="SAML 2.0">...... (base64 decoded from Authorization header)

The date is in the format of the language, so to get the client work, I had to change the date format to the english one =).

Hope this can help :p

Edit: I saw after that the solution had been already pruposed .. http://www.istartedsomething.com/20080427/install-mesh-client-non-us-systems/#comment-60020 Confused
