If you’re like me, you probably have a bunch of MP3 lying around on a backup somewhere, that you haven’t add to you music library, because they lack the metadata.
I would like to know how you “fix” your music, so you can add it to the library.
I normally use iTunes (not a fan, but it works), to edit the metadata and to add album covers to the files individually. The album cover won’t be on the folder, but in the actual mp3 file (be careful, problems with Windows XP MCE and IE7, all the covers become black…), then I use MusicBridge to sync the metadata on iTunes and Windows Media Player.
So, how do you do it?

I don't embed any cover art in to any of my mp3 files. I prefer to use Hi-res Folder.jpg files in the MCE artcache folders.
I either use just Windows Explorer for editing the meta tags on the mp3 files or one of these two programs:
MP3Tag
Tag and Rename
I also use the MCE Artwork Fixer program to change the .dat file MCE uses to point to the location of the Hi-Res album art 600 x 600 not the default 200 x 200 which looks really bad.
There is a lengthy thread about how to set this up here

Personally I use mp3Tag Pro when I want to download ID3 tags from internet services, like Amazon and FreeDB. This program has professional features and intuitive interface. I like it.
