Show off your Media Center Setup and win prizes

Microsoft Ultimate Install competition is a great idea and it's a great opportunity for custom AV installers to show off their installation skills but it's only open to customer installers, enthusiast are left out of it so I have a new competition!

The Ultimate Media Center Enthusiast Setup is for Media Center enthusiasts to show off their home installations. It could be a big multi-room installation or a small neat single PC setup , anything that you have installed and designed yourself. It must feature Windows Media Center and can feature any other connected technology, e.g. Windows Home Server, home theatre and audio devices.

The real aim is to show off the great Media Center systems enthusiast can put together, the competition element is just a bit of fun but there will be real prizes, software from BigScreenGlobal, Voice Tunes from One Voice and mControl home automation software. Plus there is the glory of showing off your setup to other enthusiast

To enter the competition take pictures of your setup and post them in this Flicrk group, post as many pictures as you want and please explain the components you have used, then an expert panel will pick five finalist to be put to a public vote.

So join the Flickr group and get posting your setup. The closing date for the first round of pictures is May 1st

Get posting!

I'm still working on getting mine turned up.  Though Your tag on your Extender says DMA2100?  Isn't the unit with the DVD player a DMA2200??

 Thats the one I have.   I'm trying to get it to see My Media on my Windows 2008 Server.  Though So far no luck...  )-;

And if that isn't good enough, I've decided to donate my Zune 2 8gig (which I recently upgraded) to this competition too!, I'm not sure how Ian will work it in yet, it may become a 'special' prize.

Anyway so if you didn't have a big enough excuse to enter yet, here is just another :)

The zune is boxed with all original instructions and packaging and in mint condition. In addition it is engraved with one of my favorite Einstein quote's:-

'A question that sometimes drives my hazy, Am I or are the others crazy?'

It is good to see this contest.  I have just subscribed to the podcast.  Anyway, I am finishing up a custom setup for my HP MCE computer.  I couldn't find any suitable livingroom entertainment center shelving to house the HP under a projection screen.  So I made a dramatic shelving system that goes under and OVER my home-made 110-inch projection screen.  The HP MCE computer instructions said to allow adequate ventilation above and behind the computer.  They weren't kidding about the heat!  So I've wired in four blue LED fans into my cabinet with a Thermaltake fan controller box with matching blue control screen.  Works real good.  You guys have gotta see this neat setup.  I'll get some pics uploaded to flickr in a day or two.  My goal is to see all the creative setups - and to win an xbox! I just got my projection screen photos posted to the Flickr group/pool today.  They're a little late, but at least you guys can see what a first-time home theater guy can build.  I was surprised what I could build when I couldn't find any ready-made low-profile furniture.
