To update the question a little:
One of the great things about Windows Media Center is the ability to extend it's functionality above the basic specification with 3rd party applications, from Weather to RSS readers, from commercial skipping applications to movie management systems we all have our essential tools.
So this got me thinking, if you had to pick one addon that you couldn't live with out, which one is it? Is it an RSS reader or My Movies, Orb or Webguide. Also what 3rd party application are you waiting for that isn't around at the moment? One example of that would be a full featured software Media Center extender.
So here are my questions to you:
1. Definitely WebGuide 4!

3. Any method to receive HD digital cable in the Netherlands. Alas CableCard is unknown over here, and the DVB-C standard we use for digital cable is not even formally supported for SD, let alone HD.

3. It would be great to have more flexibility with guide setup - to accomodate seamless integration of my QAM channels (HDHomeRun). Right now I'm able to get guide data for QAM channels that duplicate my analog linup (e.g., I remap WABC - HD to get the analog WABC guide listings), but cannot get listings for other QAM channels (e.g., PBS Kids, WNET-HD, IATV) that are not in my analog lineup. Selecting the digital lineup in my Media Center setup is not a workable solution because, in my area, the analog channels are numbered differently than their digital equivalents (e.g., WCBS will be 2 in digital, 12 in analog), so, if I select the digital lineup, Media Center will think that, e.g., CBS is channel 2. Currently, there is no way that I'm aware of to tell Media Center to treat, e.g., channel 12 as if it were channel 2 (though it will let me do that for the digital, i.e., QAM channels).
