Hi

I've just purchased a HP Pavilion dv9000 series laptop and it comes with a HP DVB-T TV Tuner and a pitiful aerial that doesn't work at all. Live TV and recording works when I'm plugged into my external TV aerial but I'd like to get it working with an internal aerial so that when I'm in a hotel room I can watch and record TV if I need too.

I've trawled the web and have heard that the "Telecam TCE2000 Wideband Indoor Aerial" works well with normal digital terrestrial TV's and it's only a tenner from Argos but I'd like to know if anyone had any experience trying this or similar aerials? Any help would gratefully received.

Cheers Matt.

Have just got a Telecam TCE2000 to do just this with my HP notebook.  I have got a Freecom DVB-T USB stick but the supplied aerial was totally useless. However, the Telecam works a treat and that is in a medium signal strength area.  The TCE2000 is directional so you need to know roughly which direction to point it in before you scan for channels but a quick glance at surrounding rooftops should give you an idea.  The TCE2000 folds up reasonably flat too so it will fit in the bag with the notebook and it is unpowered so you can use it without having to find a mains socket.  Well worth 9.99 from Argos.
