I want to pass on all the guide data problems to Microsoft so I thought it would be good to have a central location to report the problems.

So please post your guide data problems here and include the channel with the problem, the channel number, transmitter or region and the signal type.

e.g. ITV1 - Channel no 3, no guide data via Winter Hill DVB-T

ITV1 - Channel no. 3, Crystal Palace DVB-T

For some weeks now, 'The Bill' has been listed with the episode title in the name, e.g. "The Bill: Cop Killer", "The Bill: Quiet Times", etc.

This of course screws up any chance of doing a series recording, as the series 'The Bill' is no longer transmitted as far as the guide is concerned.  So I have to do a wishlist type recording, based on the title containing "The Bill".  This of course means that *every* episode of The Bill, including both repeats, is recorded, along with the odd program I don't want ("The Billingsgate Murders" etc).

This is a very annoying and seemingly pointless change to the guide data.  No other programmes are listed like this, as far as I can tell.  It seems almost designed to screw up automated recording systems.

Virgin Media - KT17 2PZ.

TV Channels missing EPG data:

  • 139 - Bravo 2
  • 170 - Zone Horror
  • 274 - Discovery Real Time Extra
  • 424 - Movies 24
  • 525 - British Eurosport 2
  • 527 - Extreme Sports
  • 545 - Motors TV
  • 620 - Euronews

Also, several radio channels have no EPG data.

There might be several channels that have no data at all - but I've no way to know about them without comparing the Virgin EPG with the MCE one.

The problems are systemic, I think.  It seems to take many months for the Microsoft EPG to catch up to changes.  The Virgin EPG is up-to-date so the data must exist somewhere.  I don't think it can be the fault of the channels themselves.

I have reported problems in the past through the official EPG feedback page, but never had a response or acknowledgement.

My guide was fine but my TV kept stopping to catch up so I thought I would do a re-install. Re-install went ok but Tv still stopping and now ITV1 is missing. It appears in the channel listing by trying to add listing to it just doesnt work

That is the same problem I had but it's now fixed. Try scanning again to see if it fixes it, if not try a postcode in a different region and that should work for now

by manually adding the listings to the faulty channels I got the guide data to work for each channel. The problem a lot of the time is with the name of the channel eg. ftn - FTN or E4+1 is actually E4 + 1

Sandy Heath DVB-T Vista Premium

I have various series set to record. Each show is set to record first run only, once only, anytime of day. I'm finding that many shows i.e. Holby, Perfect Housewife, Dirt, Click etc etc will record repeated showings when it's quite clearly stated in the show info the showing is a repeat. I've BBC1 set to record the daily lunchtime showing of Neigbours however recently I've found MCE also recording the afternoon showing too. What's strange is that the lunch time recording is present on the machine right up until the afternoon showing when it just disappears from the listed recordings. Sometimes it reappears and other times is just replaced by the later showing. This is only a recent occurrence. I've completed a fresh set up of Media Center but these issues remain.

So far this week Neighbours has recorded twice a day. This is despite setting Neighbours to record Anytime Once a day for the lunchtime showing. If you then change it to the same but the evening showing it will only record that one evening showing once a day as instructed to. Confused yes but very strange.

I have a system with the new TV pack installed with 4 tuners two HD and two NTSC.  When I put in my zipcode 78759 one of the local HD channels does not show - 54.  I cannot put it in manually, but can search for channels and find it.  However, the guide data for 54.1 does not show in guide data.  However, the Zap2it website shows the correct data when I put the same zip code in.  Any ideas?
