It’s an in depth guide (4 pages) and includes instructions on how to use HP’s Video Converter that can simplify the process by converting various video formats to h.264.

That format is called MP4 AVC, or otherwise commonly referred to as h.264. This format for video is quickly becoming the universal, dominant format for media portability and streaming.
