I have been playing with Powerline networking for a while and have my Windows Home Server happy connected via a pair of Netgear adapters but the bandwidth is nothing like the speeds Belkin have quoted with their new Gigabit Powerline HD with speeds of 1000Mbps. That should be ideal for streaming HD video around the home and at $149.99 (£107) its not to expensive

More details on Belkin’s site

..

Not bad. The ones I've used always had horrible bandwidth.

But I only used them to complete projects that would not allow for drilling to run wires.
