I got an comment on my blog about a tweaked version of ngRC remote control software working on a touch screen enabled EEE PC. This is a great idea and I thought worthy of a post. The EEE PC 901 was first modified to add touch screen capabilities and then ngRC was used as the remote control software, some modifications were needed to get ngRC working with the EEE PC and the post details all the steps needed. It would be interesting to try ngRC on my Samsung Q1. Checkout the post for the details on how to get it working.

Recently i purchased a pair of Eee PC 901 ultra mobile portable computers, one for myself and one for my partner.  So far I have already modified both Eee PCs to add touch sensitive screens to them.  ngRC seemed by its description to be an ideal application for us.  I was particularly interested in being able to select and play music from my hard drive without having to switch on the TV.  However there was still some work to do to make it perfect.

ngRC does not work on Windows 7, I've tried it, it's broken ! I like this idea as well for the touch screens.

While Windows 7 has been leaked out on a consistent basis, you apparently need to know the secret handshake to get a copy of the 7MC SDK.  I'm not sure why but my gut tells me this is why apps like ngRC are not working..  :)
