A new beta of ngRC V2 has been released, this is the next generation Remote Control that turns your iPhone/iPod Touch or PSP in to a WiFi enabled remote. • Extender Support (control every extender from every room, with only one remote control)
  • Music-Library-Search (Browse your media center music library by Album, Artist, Playlist, Genre, Title, view Album Details, Title-Details, etc…), filter music by keyword.
  • Play selected music
  • Add selected music to playlists

Very nice, but would be sooo much nicer if someone could present a native iPhone interface, that would make it the killer app!!

Unfortunately for me I am still going to have to use iTunes + Remote for my outdoor remote control requirements.. the interface is just so much slicker.

Okay,   I am one of the few people with a Zune.    Can it be used to be a remote just like an ITouch.....for Media Center.   I was hoping....

Since a Zune if not touchscreen, it may be really cumbersome to try and use this on it.  Also, it uses Java.  I'm not sure if it requires a Java runtime on the zune, but, if it does, it definitely won't work.

Brilliant software, though I am using it on an asus Eee PC 901 with an added touch screen.

The i-phone interface was a bit small, but with some hacking of the template files and the ngrctools file I managed to make an interface I call Eee RC.

Some screen shots are on my website...

BTW the ngRC website is down atm
